Registered trainees (FY1,FY2, IMT and ST) and CESR aspirants would be eligible to compete in this session

How to write the abstract?

It should include a brief summary that gives a general idea of the content of the case report. It should not include any references or abbreviations and should not exceed 350 words, preferably < 250 words. Check your journal instructions for a detailed guideline on word counts. The abstract is usually arranged into three subsections: background, case presentation, and conclusion. The background should clarify the importance of reporting such a unique case. Afterward, a brief description of the clinical scenario of the patient listing only the important details. Finally, the conclusion should be brief with lesson learned and impact on the interested group.

What happens if you are selected?

If the abstract is selected there will be an expectation to present it at the actual AGM meeting. If your case is selected you will be given 5 minutes to present a powerpoint for the case and 2 minutes for the Q&A. This should be send in advance of the meeting.

What is the criteria for selection and awards?

The four best cases will be presented in this session. This would be selected in advance by the judges.

Presenters will be in competition and their presentation evaluated on the following criteria:

  • Originality of the case
  • Case Management
  • Presentation (demonstrating learning points from the case)
  • Answers to questions

The results of the competition will be announced during the break time.

Clinical Case Sessions

Presenting your clinical case during AGM September 2024 will allow you to give your work a platform to present to a wide acute and specialty audience and to be marked by our esteemed judges.

Clinical cases will be presented in highly interactive and educational sessions, that will be moderated by experienced clinician, who will facilitate interaction with the audience, prompt discussions, and challenge the presenters.

Case presentations (both selected or not) will be featured on AGM archives 2024 knowledge hub for 3 months. By submitting you are giving permission to make this available on the site
